Auto car or Stick ? 3.27's are usually the gear of choice for optimum performance. The whole idea is to put a good load on the motor to spin the turbo good at low RPM.

Sorry dont want to jack your thread but would the same hold true with an auto? What about a centri blower?I always thought it was better to have taller gears to get the rpms up faster.

From what I heard, taller gear is better for Centrifugal blower because it keeps the rpm up where the power band is. As for turbo, the engine need to loaded up to keep the turbo spooling so lower gear is best for the application.

I have a single 76mm, with a T56, and 3:73's. So am I to understand that the 3:73's are actually hurting my cars capability? From what I am gathering...low gear is better for turbo spool? So should I go with 3:55s or 3:27s?

3.73s are too much and are hurting your cars performance. Try atleast a 3.31 or 3.27 with the 6-speed and you'll be much happier. You don't need to run 4.10s like the n/a, nitrous or blower guys for better performance.

Still have the stocker, use it. Everyone seems to think 3.27's is a better choice...

They are. I'm running 3.31s but I also have a 28" tall tire when I'm at the track. Even still I'm thinking about going down to atleast a 3.27 to see if it does even better.
