Best Digital video camcorder? Any suggestions?

I want to take some good track video and learn how to load it as well as home movies. Don't care about lots of bells and whistles. Something simple that a NON computer person can learn. Money's not too big of a concern.

i believe ox03 means the Canon XL1S is the shiznit, end of story.

I would highly recommend the Sony DSC-F717, its a digital cam/video, night shot, steady shot, MPEG-HQ... and so forth. Hell, alot of p0rn sites used these. ;)

Yes the Canon XL1S is a great camcorder but i hate to say it, it's not the best by no means, the GL2 is a lot cheaper and imo is just as good or better, same goes for the sony vx2000(which is a lot cheaper).
My favorite camcorder right now for 5k or less(prosumer)is the Panasonic AG-DVX100 that records in 24p/30p/60i.
Maybe a little over a year ago i would said the XL1S was the best but time has changed and the XL1S prices hasn't, great camcorder but out of date and should be cheaper imo but to each his own.....l8r
