How exactly does this kit work?

It raises the boost to have it come on earlier, then limits the boost with a wastegate.
But how? Do you use a smaller pulley on the supercharger to bring boost in faster? Then the wastegate limits the boost?
Smaller pulley to build boost faster, wastegate to limit it. I ran a 3.15 pulley with 11.7 spring on my paxton 12 on corn. Felt great. Highly recommend the setup from beef. If I do a paxton on my 14 it will have a wastegate from day one.
Spin blower to max rpm thats still within its efficiency range and set wastegate to open at desired pressure........profit
Since I drive the car on the street most of the time, I was looking at this kit versus a converter. I don't really need more power on the top end, just looking to get a little more umph starting off and in the lower mid range level.
