battery terminal cable length

anyone know the battery terminal cable length for our cars?
i believe my negative cable is shorting out because the car won't start sometimes. I'll have to shake the cable around or even jump it at times.

yea i'm just pretty lazy to measure it but it's pouring out now...

when i called fair auto, they were like "what size is it"
i thought they were all the same...

anybody??

Before you swap the whole cable try swapping the terminals.


Autozone carries specific length.

But the cheapest way is to buy 1 gauge at a stereo shop and make it yourself.

so just switch positive and negatives and see if that fixes it?...
cable can't be that much $$
i'll figure it out when I've got some time i guess

No. Not the cables.

Buy replacement terminals from Autozone. The marine grade work nicely and cut your old ones off.

The stock terminals are very thin lead and can crack easily.
