Barton Shifter Noob Question

Just ordered a Barton shifter from local mustang shop and looking at what I am going to put on it for a ball when it comes in. Feels like a dumb question but will I need to order anything else? I see alot of people changing the boot out and everything and didn't know if that was just preference or if you need to do that?

Honestly not sure what comes with the shifter itself. And if anyone has any recommendations on a ball to fit the Barton I'd appreciate it. Sorry for the dumb question!

You typically need a jamb nut for the knob. There are two interior styles so you will need to look at your boot to see which one you have.


Here is an mine as an example. I got my knob and jamb nut from CJ pony parts.
