Need a little help getting these water marks out. They has been on the car since I bought it. I've tried vinegar and clay bar. Won't come out. Any help would be appreciated. Here are some pictures of the problem area.

Quarter window. All windows have this on them. Back quarter windows are bad and more noticeable.

One of the roof, hard to see. Have not wet sanded yet. This is on entire roof.

And finally a few of the rest of the car. I'm proud of it.

I tried 105 by hand with no result. I'll try it with my rotary, see what happens.

No I wouldn't use a rotary unless you know what is going on. Use a DA orbital buffer. Meg's 105 then finish with 205. Of course wash and clay bar first. It should take care of it. Keep us posted.

Those are pretty heavy water etching. If 105 by hand did not even make the slighest difference your going to need wool, a rotary, 105 and most likely wet sanding. Depending on your skill level, you might need to be contacting a professional too give the areas.

Have you tried any of the chemical methods of removal?

Vinegar works for some people. And I remember reading about using muriatic acid. But I would try that on an area of the car that is out of sight in case it damages the paint. And wear gloves! The other name for it is hydrochloric acid.

The Whinks worked! Never thought those hard water marks would come out. Here's a picture of the same quarter window I posted in the first post.

Got it at Ace hardware 4 bucks.

The stuff is potent so do it in a well ventilated area or even outside. Rubbed it in and buffed it out. Couldn't be happier.
