I have a 97 Cobra...I was thinking on making some changes to my exhaust....I installed the SLP loud mouth cat back and ever since I did I feel like my car got louder but lost power....do anyone know if a 97 needs good back pressure? the car is not stock but its not a monster either....show I just go back to flows?

It's not the drop in back pressure that causes the low range power loss, it's the drop in velocity. The backpressure thing is a myth, though the two tend to go hand in hand, hence how it started. This is why the proper exhaust for a car (including header diameter) must find a happy median between flow and lack of velocity (just like intake runners).

Though in your case, the percieved loss is most likely just in your head.
