Axle back question

Was changing my oil today and decided to look at the axle back tubing. I noticed that the tubes are flattened at a single point right over the brace. Do you think this restricts the flow of the exhaust in any way?

I ask this because when you look at after market axle backs they are tubular all the way to the muffler.

I'm sure that it does retrict airflow SOMEWHAT, which would explain the minimal gains from axle back exhausts, as this restriction is diminished.

Nice! Thank you. Book marked for future purchase.

I would think the overall exhaust sound would also be changed by getting rid of the restrictive (flattened out) stock piping.
You're welcome

At the time these mid pipes went on my car, the car also got a set of ARH headers with an X-pipe. So I can't tell you if they will change the exhaust sound or not, if everything else stays the same.
