I'm going to put an off road x pipe on my cobra and I want to avoid having the check engine light on. My state requires inspection and emissions but all they do is plug a code reader into the computer. Id like to avoid a full tune for just an exhaust. I've heard from some people that there are ways around it by using oxygen sensor spacers. Can anyone share some information on them or point me in the right direction for where to get them?

They are called MIL eliminators. I have a new set if you're interested. $35 shipped.
MIL stands for 'Malfunction Indicator Light'... (Check Engine)
I had a set on my '97 Cobra with an O/R X pipe & worked like a charm.

Mechanical solution = Spark plug anti-fouler
Electrical solution = MIL Elimanator

Google that and pick the solution that suit your car/situation best.

Bro, just go see Pete over at Performance Dyno in Loudon. He'll give u a sweet tune and take care of any lights / emissions problems.

I will make it over to see pete eventually once I pulley the car. Just dont really wanna spend the money to tune it just for an exhaust.

REALLY no need to tune a car for just an exhaust.

+1 on MIL eliminators. Put them on my '04, good to go.
