hey guys i have an 11gt/ auto, and for the last few weeks i noticed that when the car is cold and i crank it up there is a very small whine from the transmission, and when you put it in reverse or drive the noise gets louder but goes away when it warms up. i think it in the converter, not sure. has anyone ever had this happen? car only has 8000 miles. thanks, David

There is a TSB on the auto trans TSB 11-8-4 6r80 transmissions - fluid leak from bell housing - built on or after 4/15/2011 through 6/8/201
some 2011 f-150, expedition/navigator and 2012 mustang with the 6r80 automatic
transmission built after april 15, 2011 may exhibit a transmission fluid leak from the bellhousing area. This may occur at low miles or during pre-delivery road test. If this concern is present, replace the transmission pump assembly part number 9l3z-7a103-a, o-ring al3z-7a248-a and bolts 6l2z-7n134-ba following the online version of the workshop manual (wsm) procedures in section 307-01 of the appropriate wsm and service labor times standards for repairs. Note: Be sure to check the packing date of the of the pump assy (7a103) on the part number
label, if packaged in may 2011, do not install that pump

TSB 3437 - 2011 f-150, expedition, navigator, 2012 mustang equipped with 6r80 automatic transmission - fluid leak from bellhousing - built between 4/15/11 and 6/6/2011

thanks scubba, i checked my car for leaks and there are none and the build date for the car is 12-10. it doesn't seem to affect the shifts or anything and like i said the noise goes away within a few minutes as it warms up

Just had fluid puking out of the bellhousing area this morning on mine. 7604 miles on a 2013GT.

It's at the dealership now, will report back with cause/issues.
