Anyone know of a good write up on SVTP or any other Mustang forums covering Automatic transmissions??
Been doing some research and I’m starting to realize there’s more to it than I thought… Need to understand the different types (4r70, AOD, C4, TH-400, Powerglide, etc…), functions/types of stall converters, valve bodies, trans brakes, etc…
I have a 01 Cobra with a 76mm turbo putting about 620rwhp through a T-56 on a conservative tune currently and I’ll probably be in the market for an auto this winter.
My car has slowly and inevitably turned into a weekend warrior from a daily driver. I’ve done some growing up over the years and want to focus on the track (60’, ET, MPH) rather than racing Honda’s and Trans Am’s on the street/highway…
Seems like to get the best out of my setup and to be more consistent would be to go turbo and like I always do, I’d like to start my research here on SVTPerformance.
I know there are some very experienced drag racers in here and was looking for a write up similar to these that cover all the FAQ's for people like me:
