Hey all.
I'm in the process of getting my long awaited TT kit.
While I'm waiting for delivery, I want to beef up my suspension and transmission.

I need some real world advice from you guys with modified AOD-E / 4R70-W Autos.
Aside from a staul convertor, what other mods should I do to it?

I've decided on the twin 46mm HP kit. and 3200 Staul.
Street driving mostly, occasional track runs.
I've read a little about valve bodies, a diode and some other part that breaks.
Is it worth the money?

I want to know whats really necessary...
What do you recommend>???

The 4R70-W is a very promising and stout transmission. Most rebuilt performance trannies use the 4R70-W gearset. I would recommend installing a shift kit, and changing your valve body. You'll enjoy the lock-out.

You would want to get your car dynoed with the turbo kit installed already in order to get a proper stall converter for your application.

I agree, because i think a 3200 may be a little bit much on a slightly modded street car. 2400-2800 seems more realistic.

Yes, if you have the money and are going to get serious about your performance in your car, and plan to build auto. Save for the best transmissions around today..

They can give you the best advice today.

Thanks CK, Just today I was talking with SVCmotorsports and they recommended lentech. Apparently they have a valve body that you can use for transbrake and not loose your automatic shifting. I need to look into it...
Thanks for the link.

Aye this is very true, also if you go with a valvebody for lockout and transbrake be sure to have someone who knows about the installation do it. I wouldn't recommend it doing at home even though the instructions are well detailed. A little slip up could cost you a tranny.
