I have my AFM filter kit, but dont want to install it till I get the dyno done...

So tempted to just go out there and put it on now, but I want a before and after dyno...

How do you cope

Slap the sucker on, see if you feel a difference. Then before the dyno put the stock unit back on, get a good baseline, then take it off and burry it in the backyard.
