Are G-Tech Pros still popular?

Haha, I just came across my G-tech Pro and a notebook with all of the recorded times the other day while organizing the basement.
We would go to the industrial park late at night with a bunch of slow and somewhat faster cars (Accords, Cavaliers, Oldsmobile's, Mustangs, Saab's, etc.) and record the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times one at a time over the same stretch of road.
Good times.

Edit: I think mobile apps, have kind of replaced the need for one of these.

I figured there would be apps out there considering the gps/accelerometers, but how would better would they be, some phones require a better gps antenna

I would lay odds that the accelerometers in most modern phones are better than what was in the G-Tech. There's good apps out there that do the same thing, you just need to make sure the phone is mounted securely for the most accurate results.

Brings me back 5 years ago when the local track was down for new ownership/changes. Spent a lot of cool nights out in bfe using a G-tech getting down my launch.
Was pretty accurate with the times I did run at the track

Tried a free one called Car Performance, took some time to get GPS accuracy. Results are pretty funny, did a quick jaunt to 60.. no way near accurate
