I noticed today that my shifter knob was getting pretty warm as I was driving the cobra today. Is this normal?? By the way, it was dusk time, so it was fairly cool outside.
My knob doesn't get too warm but the shaft under it does get a little hot after long drives. After market shifter and knobs with the thread cover will transfer more heat than the stock set up. Your tranny is not getting hotter. Just the heat is getting transfered to your hand more efficienctly.
Your welcome. I wondered the same thing after I replace my stock shifter with a tri-ax and used a custom shift knob that has an aluminum thread cover. The little thread cover gets pretty warm sometimes.
