Anyone running a catch can / oil separator?

Yes, we have a JLT unit on our 97. After about 500 miles we get about 1/4" of condensed vapor. Currently using PP 5W-30 oil and regularly exercise the 4V to 6K+.

I had a "Catch Can" very similar to that one on my '03 Lightning....worked well, and I liked the fact it was clear.

I made mine out of air compressor filter. painted it black .last pic is the one I just made for my towncar. I need to mount it and paint it. but they work great. all together for both cars it was 40 bucks.

Actually I had a bad leak at the oil cooler. It was bad. I mean bad.....

Right.. I believe you.. because went my rings started to go, it pressurized the hell out of the crank case, blowing oil out of just about wherever it could, to include that oil cooler, which gets on the belt, which throws it all over the engine. Definitely time for some simple green and a brush, and a hose. Maybe time for compression test too..

Found the source of the leak. Valve cover gasket. And a grommet are leaking a little. Why oh why does it have to be the drivers side???????
