Looking for anyone with any input on the area around Tuscaloosa. Thinking about going after a hefty promotion with my job, but it would require relocation from East TN. It most likely wouldn’t be permanent, but I’d say 5-6 years minimum. I’ve only driven through T Town twice, too and from Starkville for A week stint at MSU. Seemed pretty small and dirty, but I probably only saw a small part of it, and I don’t want any first impressions to bias my view. Might even consider living in between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham so that my wife has opportunity as well for management level jobs. I’ve lived in Memphis for about 3 years, and wouldn’t go back. Anyone got a good comparison to that? Would give me some context. If it makes a difference as far as lifestyle and real estate, household income level would be around 220k.
