Anyone have a 4.0 whipple and with stock injectors RWH results?

Hello guys and gals . I have a 2012 GT500 With a 4.0 Whipple 3.75 pulley and i want to see what horse power that i can get out of it. I have read and read and some people said they can get 800HP out of the stock injectors and some says you cant. My next question is i want to put long tube header with Xpipe and maybe change the injectors . What kind of Horse power are you guys getting out of a close set up that i have or talking about doing? Thanks

Thats a big blower, you are gonna want to make 800hp plus to actually take advantage of it. Stock injectors are not gonna get you 800hp without starving the motor. Just to be safe you are gonna want to change injectors and maybe add a dual bap.

Friend of mine Daniel bought a ‘13-14 with a 4.0 Whipple and is making good power. Look him up:


Are you sure you have stock injectors?
I’d say you need at minimum 80# injectors but lots of variables there (fuel, power goals).

Hello me32 I love to make 800 at the wheel but I dobt want to put it in the danger zone of blown it up. Which I dont plain on racing it. When they turn it into a Super Snake shelby did all the work to it. They may have took the stock injectors and made them bigger. I have no idea. When it was dyno at shelby they said it was 880 at the back wheel. Now if thats true or now I don't know. When I had it dyno it was 571HP at the back wheel . But it had a bad cat on one side and the coolant pump for the supercharger wasnt working. I got all of that fix . I bought the SS wreck and took it to ford and had all the airbag lights and ABS lights knock out . Ford said that they didn't change the program on it but since then it dont feel as strong as it did. But I just got the car back together from the wreck and I havent drove it any to know what it did feel like until now.

so, if it is/was a super snake with a 4.0 blower, are the engine internals still stock?

Hi @christac , i wasnt aware that shelby put the 4.0L whipple on the 11/12 GT500 as part of the SS package. Mayeb it was optional upgrade. As for the 13/14 GT500 the SS had a couple options the whipple 4.0L 850hp with 72lb injectors and the stock fuel system as the pumps were much better in the 13/14 vs 07/12 gt500s. And the KB 3.6 kit that was 800hp.

So to be honest i dought that car ever dynoed at 880hp to the wheels with the factory Cats in place and factory fuel system and stock 5.4 motor. Just isn't possible unless they faked the dyno numbers.

I would dig deeper and see what mods it actually has. You may indeed have bigger injectors, pumps or bap. Pull the rear seat and see if the anything looks modded take pictures and post them. Look in the trunk in the tire well and post pictures possible bap added. Let us know what you find so we might be able to help you out some more.

You ought to be able to contact SAI, give them your VIN & CSM #, & get all the details on it's conversion.
Once you have a baseline of information, you can move forward..

Hello me32 I took a few pictures of some of the stuff . I took pictures of the injectors and the Whipple and the pulley. Myself i dont see this car making 880 at the rear wheel . When i had it dyno it was 571 RWH But the cat was broken and the intercooler pump and fans wasnt working. My plains is to take it to a tuner and let him turn it but i wanted to put what i can on it to make the horse power but dont want to go over board with it. I like to get the most horse power without going over the limit.

Could you post a clearer picture of the invoice please?

Like Don said, call Shelby give em the CSM and see if they have info.

DO NOT TELL THEM YOU BOUGHT THE CAR WRECKED. Only ask for what you need at this point.

By not telling them its wrecked, you may be able to possibly get replacement items on certain components. If you tell em its wrecked, they might have a greater chance of telling you to pound sand

Definitely has a bap. So thats some good news.

1st & foremost, my car was tuned on the street, my tuner used to work for Ford as a calibrator. When it came in after tuning & went on the dyno, it made 818, my tuner de-tuned it to 780, because of the stock bottom end.
..................( this on 93 octane )
Who & how it's tuned matters..
.
