Just curious because I went there last weekend and had a great time in the mountains.

Anyone ever been hiking on Mt. Mitchell or Grandfather Mountain?

i have done it a couple of times , its kind of a let down though as far as hiking goes, sure you can hike the 16 mile loop but when you drive to the peak its a bummer. I have done a few of the peaks in the black mountains.
Haven't been there in a number of years, but that swinging bridge was awesome!
been there many times, but no walking for me.. thats for indians. i like riding down route 80 that goes from parkway just north of Mt mitchell down to marion
