My '03 vert was rear end shunted by a careless Suburban driver who reversed into it while parked in a shopping center lot.

The insurance assessor has pointed out my vehicle appears to have been repaired before because there's a couple of thin metal shims under the base of the right trunk lid hinge. I bought the car new and it's never been repaired before so the factory must have fitted them (consistent with the fact the original paint is sprayed over and around the shims and hinge base).

Can other owners confirm if they also have shims under their trunk lid hinges?

Anyone else? I need to know if they are factory fitted shims meaning your car has never had any post-first sale repairs done to it.

03 Zinc yellow. 1 shim on the left, painted factory color.
Car bought new with 3 miles on it. Never been out of my sight in the eight years I've owned it. The shims are put in at the factory when assembling the car before paint.
