Anybody ever been on a cruise?

I'm sitting here in my hotel room in Orlando, FL. Tomorrow, my fiancee and I will be taking our first cruise. We'll be traveling to Cozumel, Belize, Honduras and the Bahamas. I'm extremely excited and hope that this cruise lives up to my expectations.

Anybody have any good/bad cruise stories to share? Any last minute tips for the "noob" cruiser?

I went on my first cruise last year. It was one of the best vacations that I have ever been on. Went on a 5 day Mexican riviera cruise. First day/night I got trashed and the crew had to help me back to my room. Had such a hangover the next day I didn't even step out of the boat in our first stop. Got out of bed at about 4 in the afternoon as we were shipping out.

I went on Carnival. The food was fantastic. You can get something to eat at any hour of the day or night at any of the buffets, cafes, or room service. There was a rather large group of us that went so dinner in our restaurant was always fun. Bars didn't close until 4 I think so we had a lot of late night drinking and gambling going on the whole week.

Don't forget the sunscreen. I decided one morning that instead of wasting the morning doing nothing that I would go lay out on the deck for a little bit. Turns out that I fell asleep and got the worst sunburn of my life. My entire abdomen hurt so bad the rest of the time, I still have the tan lines from that burn over a year later.

I met some married girl that was there with her friends and over the week we hung out and partied a lot. End of the week, if she wasn't sharing a room with her bitchy friend who was really watching us, we would have been rocking the boat.

While you want to have fun and do as much as possible, be careful of how much you spend. You can easily rack up a hefty bill if you aren't thinking about it. The only thing that I had on my bill was booze. In the beginning of the week I was drinking Guinness, Red Stripe, and shots of Belvedere. Towards the end of the week, I was drinking Coors Light.

Get to know your waiters/servers and have fun. Try new things whenever you can. You can buy booze on the boat or in whatever countries you go to for CHEAP, but you can't drink it while on the cruise. They hold it until the last night. I remember I didn't even go to sleep the last night of our cruise. A group of us just stayed up all night partying, hanging out and drinking.

Yea man they are great. I spent 900 bucks on just Booze alone for 2 ppl on a 3 day 4 night cruise. I would do it again for sure.

I miss cruising.... My wife & I probably did 6 Carnival cruisies (and got engaged on one of them!) before the little-one-who-rules-the-house :cryying: came along! Someday we'll go back & maybe take him with us...

u betcha, best week of my life. The only vaca ive ever been on as well. Went to the bahamas from NYC 7 day 6 night with all my friends for spring break a while back. Even met my gf there. And it only cost me 600 bux

The BEST vacaion I EVER had hands down. Left NYC went to Bermuda, Tortolla <sp?> and St Thomas. We went on NCL and it was amazing, eat whenever you want, decent casino with lounge and loud music. My fiance works with a woman whos husband is the director of saety for NCL, so we got a few little perks, like dinner with the captain one night, and a tour with the captain of the wheelhouse. I was very skeptical when she booked the trip, I thought I would be bored, NO WAY! We are going again next spring. By the sounds of it, i'm the only one here who went on a cruise and didn't get trashed LOL

Dude, cruises are awesome! THIS IS IMPORTANT. ON SOME CRUISES AT THE TOP DECK YOU'LL SEE BEWBIES!!!!!! I learned this the easy way when i went. I was 16 and i went to the top and BAM! i was like wow!!!! It's a little scary at night when you look out and see nothing but darkness. The food is teh shit!!!! Overall i can't wait to take another one!!!
