CTSV > GT500, not mustang or S550. Since I CURRENTLY own both a 2012 GT500 and a 2013 CTSV, and have actually driven both, I believe I can make that assertion. Once you own both a CTSV and a S550 then you can make your own assertion. Until then, you're just making uninformed speculation!?

so yes you're either trolling me or illiterate.

I disagree, only the CTS-V wagon is better than the GT500. :D

That would be a hard choice though if I was given the option between a CTS-V coupe vs say a 2013 GT500. Most likely would take the GT500 as it does look better to me.

Regarding the original topic. So the S550 is fairly comparable to the last gen in terms of 1/4mi times it seems.

For the last 2 Saturday's I've watched Scott Boda running Steeda's 15' car at SGMP and it seems to have some issues, best pass I've seen that car make with a drag radial, CAI, tune, and axle back has 12.80's.... And I know he can drive a stick pretty damn good. Saw him put the stock CAI back on and stock tune and went 13.0's.

stick or auto? Auto's seem to be the way to go for drag racing, 11-14's also.

DAMN, running 6 mph faster than any other stock 15' GT on the planet, awesome!!!! :bs:

hey thanks. I'm going again tonight, much colder. Hoping to run some high 11's at over 120. I know, such :bs:

If that is the one thing you're getting from this thread, you're missing the point. I know what stock and BPU 11-14's run. Was curious to see if the S500 was running similar times. Don that ran the 12.4 is an acquaintance of mine, I believe he wouldn't embellish his time as the car will not remain stock long. I also what to know how they compare to my stock GT500 times.

I liked the wagon, wife has a wagon phobia. Surely there is some type of treatment.

Regarding original topic, it seems some people would rather try and start shit then stick to the topic at hand. And for those, I am actually starting to like the S550, atleast in some variations. Turbosixx has a black premium GT A6 with the 20's. Very nice car. All my techs at the MB dealer I work at ran to look at it. I'd like the same except comp orange with recaros.

I'm afraid with my schedule, the holidays and the track closing for a few weeks, I might not baseline my car. VMP's TVS will be available in a couple of weeks.

Oh and that would make it a fair comparison to a CTS-V.

You said the car ran 12.20's @ 119 STOCK correct? I can see the ET on a very well prepped track and extremely negative D/A but 119 mph, not happening. No problem's timing and mph electronics must have been installed by the same company that did Cecil in Maryland... In any case I believe anything within reason is possible, sure would like to run my car out there!

I have to work this Saturday, but there is one of those grudge races on Saturday. If you can make it and weather holds out, track should be prepped well. Went last night and ran 12.10 @ 119.65, 1.81 61ft. I may get rid of the Shelby and buy a CTSV for myself.

No, you should be deep 10's with the TVS. Hopefully when I put the 2300 on the Shelby I can keep up with you, I don't think I'd ET as quick, but mph should be comparable. Damn TR6060!

How many stock Mustangs do you ever see when you are at the track or out looking for trouble. If you lose do you say I am stock. S550> CTSV

After having spent a decade and a half racing at the drags, allow me to report on how many Stangs (or any other car for that matter) that are stock at the track:

.000000000000001%

And what's his name you're arguing with about 'lil Caddys needs to remember this is a Mustang forum. I don't care about CTS-V's, and I'm sure most everyone else here doesn't care either. The "no significant heritage" (wow, goes all the way back to 2004) CTS-V is not a Mustang so it's all "blah blah blah" to me. Can't believe he doesn't get it ...

Mustangs I've Owned (yeah, that's right, Mustangs)
1969 Mach 1 S Code 390 (used)
1982 Mustang GT (new)
1983 Mustang GT (new)
1985 Mustang GT (new)
1993 Mustang LX 5.0 (new)
1995 Mustang Cobra (new)
2011 Mustang V6 (new)
2013 Mustang 5.0 (new)
2013 Mustang 5.0 (new)

Nope.

That's why I do not now (and pretty much never have) bought claims of what everyone says they ran at the strip ...

6-speed manual
¼-mile: 13.0 sec @ 113 mph

Motor Trend

6-speed manual
¼-mile: 12.8 sec @ 112.2 mph

Road and Track
6-speed manual
¼-mile: 13.0 sec @ 110.9 mph

With 110 to 113 mph a very good driver should be able to run 12.6 or less bone stock, by good driver I mean someone who has honed the skill of 60'ing on street tires. 1.8s are easily possible and I've had friends get all the way into the 1.7s on race prepped tracks back when fun ford weekend had the street stang class.

Son, that's all you've owned in Mustangs, 9, LOL! Quit trolling me. 2 1985 Mustang GT's, 88 LX 5.0, 90 LX 5.0 7UP, 94 GT vert, 95 GT sapphire blue, 97 Cobra, 98 GT, 03 Mach 1, 04 cobra, 09 GT500, 12 GT500. And only one "specialty". Must suck to be you? Just because you cannot believe people can beat magazine times doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

Car and driver 2011 GT500 12.4 @ 117. My 12 stock went 12.06 @ 117

Of course I was lying when I stated stock, just had to embellish to make myself feel better.

Dude what's so hard to believe? My friend baselines every vehicle he has before modding it. He has absolutely no reason to lie about what it ran. It ran that 12.45 in really good air and a well prepped track.

I can vouch for black99.... Been knowing him for years, always was a true mustang guy.
