It's not uncommon to see -20*F or lower after windchill in the winter
I had a full set up here where every day I drove to and from work it was reading -35 C or colder on my vehicle 
that's just during the deep freeze time of the year though

You can dress for the cold. summer sucks more. this summer at hit 36c a few times. Its terrible when you gotta wear fire retarded coveralls and other ppe in heat like that.
I say bring on the US workers. At least they speak English!!
And the comment about the supervisor saying "no one works so no one gets hurt" that's a Comon saying up there but its a joke. Obviously you have a lot of lazy people taking it very literal and they give the rest of us a bad name.
