hey i have a 10 month old son and a 15 year old daughter and im going to be away from them for the next year. i am just wondering what kind of special things you do to keep in touch with your kids and let them know that even though you cant be with them that you carry them around with you everyday. i tell them all the time, and send cards...ect, but i know that there are some really creative ways to let them know, so give me some ideas. thanks for your help.

in this digital age, i take my little digi cam, and make short videos of myself, and send them to my son, his mom does the same and sends them back. it's hard not to cry though.

get a web-cam and small gifts are always appreciated. My 5 year old loves books, I send her books a couple of times a month with notes in them.

check out flatdaddy.com (or something like that) you can get a torso sized picture of yourself in uniform for them to have while you are gone.
