Another Tire Size question

I just bought a set of 95R Cobra wheels, 17x9, for the 95 2-top. I'm considering adding 275x40 tires but I'm concerned about tire rubbing with the car lowered about an inch. I now have the stock 95 wheels, 17x8, with 255x45s that don't rub.

I've perused the past "tire size" discussions where I've seen what will fit on a wheel, and some discussions around tire rubbing, but I didn't find a clear answer of "tire size on a lowered car, and tire rubbing".

Untamed, that's what I wanted to hear. One more thing, Do the tires fit on the 17x9 rim well, or do they bulge?

Those tires will fit the 17X9 wheel perfect. That is what I have on my fronts.
