Hi everyone!! I found this forum while searching about ecoboost swaps. I have in mind a geeat swap that I plan on doing next year. I am already gathering parts up. I'm trying to get all of my ducks in a row before I start the project.
The only thing I'm not sure of is whether to keep my current stock BCM , abs, ect or if I should ditch it and retrofit everything from the donor vehicle. I plan on using a 2010-2012 MKS with the 3.5eb. It's the transverse engine that's awd and it sits exactly the same way my current drivetrain does with the engine on the right.
From reading some of the other threads, it looks as if one could turn pats off in the donor ecu and it was said that stock abs could be used. I didn't see anything else about this or how to make it work. If I could get the engine and trans to be on their own and my BCM and everything else be on their own, it would make it so much easier. I just haven't found the 1st retrofit schematic of what exactly is needed form a factory donor as of yet.
I'm determined to make this swap happen and will retrofit the entire donor electronics into my car if I need to make it happen. I came here to see if there was an easier way such as the bare minimum that is needed for the eb to run in the swap. From what I've seen, there has been some nice swaps go on and I hope that I could be one of the next.
So, with that said, I'm looking for some information on the following if anyone is willing to share:
a retrofit schematic on what's needed for the engine (and trans)
A pinout on an eb edu or where to tap for the use of a different BCM (such as my car)
And any information about retaining my stock abs with an eb saw.
Any and all help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Ray
