amz1 vs amz2

Does anyone know if there are any differences between the amz1 code and the amz2? Performance, fuel economy, protection from overheating at prolonged full throttle, anything?

From my research here it looks like 04's shipped with the amz1 but the latest available engine code is amz2. Is there anything newer out there?

By the way, if there is nothing wrong with the engine, would the dealer still flash the PCM for you?

sorry for bring back teh dead but what is the differnece cuz my inside car door sill says AMZ1 and my tuner threw on AMZ2 tune.... is there an iusse here with that????

once you've been tuned, there is no issue.

AMZ2 was not released on production cars, but was the latest base calibration so the tuners use it because it has the stall fix and such. me talk goodly.

+1, the AMZ2 is an update for the amz1. If using sct to tune it doesnt matter what the code is. You can use the most updated one out there. It will just save your stock tune and load the new, updated tune. Same goes for the older pcm's like the YDH1, etc.
