Alternator only charging at idle! Help

Hi, my alternator on my 03 cobra is only charging at idle. If I rev the engine, the low battery light comes on and when I let off, the light goes off.
Is the problem the alternator ? Do I need to buy a new one or it can be another problem ?

Watch out, it take your battery right down with it and ruin it.

Have you tested with it running, not running? What kind of numbers are you getting?
