Replaced battery. Car runs but if I off and try to start after a short time, it struggles. Running highway it's at 14.4v and then drops to 14.2 or 14.1 at idle. Searched through all the other sensor outputs on my ngauage and couldn't find anything useful for diagnosis.

You'd think nailing down OEM parts would be simple and easy. One website seems to point me toward a boss 302 alternator while another seems to indicate 2016 was the same alternator across all mustang models.

Anyone know the OEM part number? Is there a better aftermarket option available? I'd prefer not to use motorcrap.

Well you’re charging volts are within spec.

Likely have a failed battery or voltage drop on starter circuit.

My bad; just woke up and missed the battery replacement.

I’d really lean towards a poor connection leading to voltage drop on the starter circuit.

If the alternator is charging over 14v its doing its job. Have you physically tested the voltage from the alternator, the distribution box, and the battery each separately?
