Tesla had people out the door for its Model 3 sedan before ANY details were launched let alone a target for its first build of the $30,000 base model. Ive seen die hard performance guys go with a Model 3 dual motor. People that were die hard V8 or turbo 4 cylinder drag racers. They got a ride in a Model S and next thing i know they are stating build dates for their dual motor model 3's. So your target is 100% wrong and i assume you have never ridden in a Model S on Ludicrous mode. It changes you in ways you cant imagine. I was a die hard V8 guy for a long time, a friend changed the way i saw 4 cylinders with an Evo, now ive ridden in a Model S on stupid mode and im a convert. Id wager Ford is going to sell a few hundred handfuls of these things after the Nov 17 event without issue let alone when they start releasing performance info. While i hate the name its going to be a stupid fast SUV. I think it would have better been just Mach-E but they have to have a base brand name/icon to start. Mustang is a well know brand icon. So they chose it.
