I installed the gauge yesterday and noticed that this light stayed on....after driving it around for a little bit and shutting it down for the night It went off but as of this morning it is back on......as far as I know the gauge seems to be functioning properly...

that light definitely shouldnt stay on.

when you turn the key on..the light should light up red (far left corner), then when you turn it on..it'll start bouncing around.

your gauges are still seeing power.

notice how oil pressure is also at zero and not at rest all the way to the left.

you need to wire them to a 12v switched power source, not the battery directly

they SHOULD be to a 12v switched source. he came by my house last night, and i showed him which wires to tap into (on the back of the dimmer switch, exact same spot i did mine). if he did it right..there shouldnt be the light that stays on constant. thats whats kinda weird.

dimmer is just for the lights.

i used the radio fuse to tap into.

all of his gauges are still seeing power.

op, and water pressure show it too.

normally the needle sits all the way to the left off the scale when there is no power.

when you get power but the car is off, the gauges read zero.

it's just like leaving the lights on it'll put a drain on your battery
i used the radio fuse also on my old 5.0

just run the power wires to the switched source. not difficult at all.

if you leave the a/f gauge like that for a longer while (few months) you may start having problems with some of the lights, not that they do anything anyways.
