Anyone done this yet?

I'm getting ready to do a head swap and if it's possible to save weight and knock out two birds I'd love to drop the K member and swap heads at the same time.

Does anyone know if the S550 K members bolt up to the GT350's?

I'm wondering if anyone has done an MMR or UPR swap out.

what would be the weight savings with the aftermarket K-member?

Dunno, depends on how efficient the factory member is.

But just for some perspective, the UPR tubular for an '05-'10 mustang swap goes from a factory weight of 44 lbs to an aftermarket weight of 18 lbs. (26 lb savings).

The weight savings gets good points for being fairly far forward, but it is lower sprung weight so not as much as say, a carbon fiber hood.

Was just wondering, and it seems like the aftermarket hasn't developed one for the 350's yet.

Beyond the weight savings is the clearance dimensions.

Would you spend $600 to get 20+ lbs off the front of the car? Between this and a battery relocation kit, you can get nearly 80 lbs off the front end.

Not likely since the entire front clip of the GT350 is different from the other S550s. Also, the Voodoo engine might have different mounting positions than the other cars, too.
