Decided to go with one of these two heat exchangers.

The Afco is smaller and the Gords seems to be more popular but Doing a little reasearch Afco has allot of experience In cooling systems..

So whats everyones thoughts on these two.

I like Apten's AFCO cause of their long time experience in
cooling systems. I believe the AFCO is the right size & fit
for the Cobra that have the normal mods. It will cool very
well at speed & under boost so I didn't need the fans. Didn't
want another electric componet that might fail. The Gord's
I think would be ideal for a heavy mod'd car though.

Afco make a good quality unit but th GordsFord unit is almost 4 inches wider overall and also the core. There is 25% more overal length X depth of the core face, but the GordsFord unit has two more cooling tubes and the tubes are not shielded so much by the top and bottom cap plates. The cooling efficiency for the GordsFord unit calculates out to 35% more.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder but in my own humble opinion I think the GF HE looks much better because it fills the whole opening and you don't see the end tanks.

For bang for the buck I believe we offer much more, including much more optional features for very little difference!

To my customers thanks for the props!!

Also the AFCO in lighter. Less weight=ET.
I am not a circle track 360 type of guy.
Maybe Brian at Apten could chime in here.
Com'n Brian help me out here-The Gordy Gang

Thanks guys, this is definitely one of those mods you only wanna do once... I dont think you can overkill the heat exchanger. Im thinking the bigger the better as it will only help cool all the more.

Gords seams like the way to go.

So one more Question???? How well do the fans work? Do they pull allot of air. Im thinking they would be great to turn on after a run and cool things down but Im also worried about the added weight.

Hey Ray,you gotta drop on over to see us sometime...we can install an Afco H E and the fans kit for you..
yes you have to watch while the fans are on.leave them on too long and you will be needing assistance :) they do work very well and cool things down very fast...so you dont need to have them on for long...

The fans add about 6 lbs of weight overall and they draw about 6.5 amps of current. If you left them on for a long time without running you coud draw the battery down but they are not a huge draw.
