So I bought a base GT because it was a can't miss with timing. Wife was in the right mood most importantly. I really like some of the premium options, and I am wondering how difficult it would be to add some of these. I have a junk yard locally that specialises in late model Fords, and he is looking for some 2011+ Mustangs. Would it be possible to get a SYNC set up with the head unit and premium steering wheel to "plug and play" in a base car? All of the wiring should be there correct? Also interested in OEM HID's, Power seats, and the illuminated door sills.

Retrofitting Sync is no small task from what I can gather. Power seats are as easy as finding one in a junkyard and wiring it up. I would imagine the lighted sills are also something that could be accomplished easy enough.

I traded my base manual for a premium auto and I will say that the add ons are fantastic.

I'm doing the same thing but going aftermaket on the radio. I'm installing the pioneer app radio to work with my IPhone. Interior wise I've already added leather seats and I still plan on upgrading the factory steering wheel. The other poster is correct that the sync would be a nightmare to retrofit. You may be better off looking to the aftermarket like I am doing.
