You might be able to get a replacement idler setup.
Damn, it's gets a little hot in TX don't it? Is it really worth it? Please explain...
she is parked most of the time, and do not need it, I like the windows down...
I see, but how much horspower is actually gained from this. I mean...when the a/c is off, it's just a free spinning pulley. Or are you mainly doing it for the weight reduction?

The compressor uses 7 to 10 horsepower to turn. Not worth it.

Just look around the net for a 5.4 without AC. That should help out.
Someone did that about 2 months ago and said the only benefit was weight reduction. Wasn't worth the effort.
