Just got home from a fun 0-100 race with a 997 Turbo. The 997 got a jump on me but I caught him through the intersection and it was all 5.0 from there on to a 100.

997 was embarrassed and busted a right turn after the run but a Jetta that witnessed it all came up at the light to ask me what I had on my car.

I'm still shaking 20 minutes later.

Thanks Steeda for the reliable tune. My car has gone to another level after the Centerforce DYAD twin disc clutch, DSS driveshaft, MGW shifter, and most importantly the Eaton Truetrac Differential.

Being a Newbie around here and with Mustangs should I be worried about this "storm" HAHA! I'm still so happy to have beat the crap out of that beautiful 997. Driver looked like he saw a ghost. I don't care what you all say. I'm grinning ear to ear right now from this win.

Uh oh here comes the shit storm. In b4 thomas.

ill save you the trouble:

did happen. 5.0 is slow, not a real mustang, or a real car. its just a GT and it only makes 400hp. its not forged and if it makes 550whp is not the same 550whp a terminator makes. 5.****

How do you know it was a 997 and how do you know it was a turbo? Because you didn't beat a 997 turbo with the mods listed in your sig.

A 2007 turbo, 5 speed auto runs around 11.6 @ 122 stock.

A newer one with PDK does 10.8 at 130 stock.

I worked for Porsche from 1999-2004. My first car was a Porsche. I can tell the difference between different year Porsche's. I know Porsche's living out here in Orange County there everywhere.

It was definitely a TRUE 997 turbo. You all can say what ever you want. I lived it tonight! Haha!

i think what the OP is trying to say is that he beat the DRIVER of a 997 porshe, not the CAR itself.
im sure the OP isnt that delusional that a properly driven 997 would loose to a simple 5.0....

we can probably all just save ourselves alot of trouble if we just congratulate him on his win and carry on.

Totally agree with everything you said. Later last night I bumped into the same Jetta at the local car meet. Him and his girlfriend both were still amazed.

I don't think my car could do better track numbers than a 997. But my driving beat the 997 last night.l

Sure it wasn't just a 4s? That would explain him jumping out on you then you coming around him. I just can't see you coming around a turbo with your mods.

Twin disc clutch and Eaton Truetrac Diff < Porsche AWD

Seems like the 997 got the jump and let off and then you proceeded with a ricer flyby. Cool story bro, but the 997 wasn't embarrassed because he wasn't racing. You were the only one racing that night.

LOL, I gotta tell my wife about this one, LOL, 400rwhp (114-116mph) 5.0 running down a 997 Porsche Turbo (121+mph).
:lol::lol::lol::lol::bs:

2007 Porsche 997 Turbo:
Weight: 3,514 lbs
BHP: 480
Torque: 502lb-ft
0-60mph: 3.4 seconds
0-100mph: 7.8 seconds
0-150mph: 19.1 seconds
1/4 mile: 11.7 seconds at 121 mph

2011 Mustang 5.0 GT:
Weight: 3,580 lbs
BHP: 412
Torque: 390lb-ft
0-60mph: 4.6 seconds
0-100mph: 11.0 seconds
1/4 mile: 13.1 seconds at 110 mph

There is a 3.2 sec diff between 0-100mph in a stock 370-380rwhp Mustang 5.0 and a 997 Turbo.

You claimed you pulled on the 997, which means you 0-100mph time would have to be much under 7.8 sec and you would need 530hp at the engine to run with a stock 997.

For sh!ts & giggles:

2013 Shelby GT500:
C/D TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 3.5 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 7.9 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 12.8 sec
Zero to 150 mph: 17.6 sec
Zero to 160 mph: 20.9 sec
Rolling start, 5–60 mph: 4.0 sec
Top gear, 30–50 mph: 11.1 sec
Top gear, 50–70 mph: 9.6 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 11.8 sec @ 125 mph

2006 Corvette Z06:
MANUFACTURER'S PERFORMANCE RATINGS:
Zero to 60 mph: 3.8 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 7.7 sec
Zero to 150mph: 17.8 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 11.7 sec @ 127 mph

Reality: Porsche wasn't racing or it wasn't a 997 Turbo

I think he let off right before you blew by him. He's significantly faster than you such that even if he was a horrific driver, he still should have beaten you.
