99 vs 01 Cobra 0-60 & 1/4 Time Discrepancy?

I was browsing 0-60 times site and came across the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times for the 99 and 01 cobra.

1999 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT 0-60 mph 5.3 Quarter mile 13.7

2001 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT 0-60 mph 4.7 Quarter mile 13.3

This doesn't seem accurate. I thought the 0-60 & 1/4 mile times for both years are within a few tenths of each other.

Also

1999 Ford Mustang GT 0-60 mph 5.4 Quarter mile 13.9

There is no way a 99 GT is equally as fast as a 99 cobra. Anyone know what the real differences in 0-60 & 1/4 times are stock for stock.

Ignore it. Once you do a few bolt-ons and a tune, they're the same. If your trying to decide between a '99 or '01, IMO it just comes down to the seats and paint colors.

Ill tell you one thing...there were very few 01s that went 13.3 stock...very few

I got few 13.50s outta mine bone stock. It took a damn good driver to go 13.30s...damn good!

My 99 did 13.40s stock pretty consitently.

I think it all depends on how well degreed the OEM cams came out. The cams were chain link aligned; so it is luck of the draw. Some put out 263 rwhp and others 278+ rwhp.

Na svt has said that a few degrees can make a significant difference.

This is one of the reasons cams make huge gains....the cams....the proper degreeing...and the synergy of the SRI and the LTs jump it up gobs of HP from the OEM cams that were never degreed properly

I think it was pre fix for the 99....because it was so close to the GT people began to question the stated HP of the 99......Then the intake fix, ECU reflash and muffler improvement....

Then you scored big because 278 rwhp is ~320 flywheel.

I went 13.3 @ 105 stock back in July of 02... I never heard of anyone matching that time (that had proof). Now I want to know who posted that on the website! :??:

Edit: And I think I could have gone faster. That 13.3 was with a 2.17 60' and the DA was probably around 2000 feet. My first time ever at a track too and got in a whopping 4 passes.
