I might have an opportunity to do a rear end swap with a local guy with a 97 Cobra hard top, and I have a 99 Cobra vert. So, I wanted to check here about the compatibility before I decide...
Springs: Don't the verts and the hard tops have different spring rates? Would my ride and height be OK with his setup, and vice versa?
Width: Aren't the 98 and older solids a different width than 99 and up solids/IRS? If so, by how much? Next spring, I might be getting some 10.5" rims for the back, so I guess a little more room wouldn't be so bad. Any thoughts?
Any other pitfalls like brake lines, cables, etc., or would it be a straight-forward swap?
