'99 GT center stack solutions?

I'm about to buy a '99 GT and I'm trying to find out if anybody has come up with a creative solution for the odd stock setup of the center stack. Is the CD player set back from the rest of the center stack to allow for the shift knob? Does anybody have any pics of how they've gotten rid of the cassette player and updated the CD head unit? Thanks dudes and dudettes. Below are a few pics of the car for reference.

get a mid 01+ center. It has a double din radio. Heres a pic of mine

All you would need is the 01+ center trim, and the DD radio with appropriate brackets. May have to do a little wire/harness splicing as each Ford radio has different connectors.

Yeah... Me and splicing don't get along. I think I like ynotsvt's setup. Simple, cheap, & easy. I guess you can get those double din kits from crutchfield when you order a head unit?
