so im gonna put a 99 cobra t45 in my 96 cobra and i was just gonna swap the tail from the one trans to the other but i was curious if there was a way to make the electronic speedo work in the 96 cobra? i have heard of the speed cal but not exactly sure how that works. could anyone give me some insight

you would need the newer guage cluster.
No he wouldn't.
A buddy of mine has a T-56 out of an 03 in his 97. I know he used he speed cal. I think he also had to use an adapter for the tailshaft housing.

see if you can get some more info on that for me? the way i interpret the speedcal it seems like it pretty much by passes the vss

it may work but I think the 96-98 cobras have a much different mount location than a 99 t-45... plus the mount height is different, raises the trans..
He said he just used the Dallas Speed Cal.
swapping tailhousings is easy also
