First and foremost, I am not looking for trades. The only reason for sale is I bought a Gen V Viper TA and I only have the budget for 1 toy car at a time. If you don't have at least some knowledge of turbos, fuel systems, or EMS's...then this car is likely not for you.
Description: I am listing my car for sale due to the recent purchase of a Gen V TA. The car runs great and has never let me down, but I scratched the itch for a big power pump gas(relative) ride and am simply just ready to move on to the new car. Below you will find all of the details of the car.
The car is a 99 Viper GTS - Black with factory silver stripes. I am the second owner and purchased it from the original owner with 9800 miles(VIN # 1B3ER69E0XV502907). The car currently has 15,5XX miles and has been turbocharged since ~11k miles. It has never once left me stranded, broken down, burned oil, or smoked.
It also has a self contained solution for passing an OBD2 scan emissions test! I can go into this further if any potential buyer needs to pass one and I can show proof of my emissions certificate that I obtained in October. I takes about 30min to configure the car for OBD2 compliance and then 2 drive cycles to check off the proper monitors in the stock ECU for OBD compliance. Then you can get scanned away and yes, even without cats the car passes. Again, I just did this last month.
Below is the list of modifications:
Engine:
Stock forged internals
ATI balancer
Billet power steering bracket/pulley
170t-stat
Roe Racing stock replacement valve springs
MOPAR plug wires
RSI TT Stage 2.5 turbo kit - 6766 turbos, Upgraded Race FMIC, Turbowerks EXA scavenge pump - Installed by ARD Motorsports. I have been back through most of it through further tinkering, the install is good.
Corsa Exhaust - No Cats
Fuel system:
RSI fuel system as included with their TT kit - Triple hanger setup with 2 Walbro 255lph pumps, braided SS feed line, RSI fuel rails, and 67lb/hr fuel injectors
Suspension:
KW Variant 2 coilovers
Snake Oyl adjustable sway bar end links front and rear
Wheels:
HRE 540R's - 18's all around
Brand new set of BFG Drag Radials with maybe 100 miles
Drivetrain:
Woodhouse engine/transmission mounts
Fidanza aluminum flywheel w/ steel insert
Spec 6 puck unsprung clutch disk with stage 3+ pressure plate
New slave cylinder
Donato built T56 with 2k miles
Electronics:
AEM EMS with the latest revisions from AEM(Rev. B, Mod D)
Dual wideband's w/ harness
AEM 3 bar map sensor
Additional AEM wideband located inside car
Interior:
Full Venzano leather interior
Viper logo'ed floor mats/trunk mat
MGW interior bits
MGW gas cap
Brakes:
Full Stoptech big brake kit
Stainless brake lines
The car runs 11.2 A/F at WOT with 9deg of timing at peak tq and 15.5deg of total advance on 93oct. Boost pressure is set at ~9.5psi(varies some with atmospheric conditions). I have got hundreds of logs for any prospective buyer. I am a Mech. Eng. by degree and stay on top of everything. The best power the car ever made on the dyno with the above stated metrics was 730whp/780wtq. The car has been down the strip only 3 times since being TT'ed. I had a new clutch in the car as well as a new(built) tranny, so to say that I was sleeping on the shifts would be an understatement(logs showed more than 1/2 a second between shifts). That being said, the car ran hard trapping a best of 138.33mph and 137.X on the other 2 runs. I can send anyone the time slips as proof.
I am probably forgetting all kinds of crap, but if there is someone that is seriously interested, I can get pictures/video of anything. The car runs great, burns zero oil, doesn't smoke, and has no leaks. The compression numbers are great and I can do one for any prospective buyer. The engine is 100% stock with the exception of the valve springs...I didn't want to chance any valve float. The car does not over heat as I pulled the radiator and blew out any blockages to the fins in preparation for the TT kit.
The paint is in as good a shape as 15yr old paint can be. I had a full detail done which included wet sanding and sealing with CQuartz afterwards. It took the gentleman about 4 days to complete and cost $1k.
I will also include all of the factory service manuals with the sell as well as who knows how many random spare parts I have laying around from the build.
Defects:
1. The windshield has a small chip in it. It is sealed, but a chip none the less
2. The clutch can be noisy when slipped. More an annoyance than anything as it doesn't slip a bit when fully engaged, but when slipping it on a hill it makes noise
3. There is a parasitic draw on the car. I narrowed it down to the ignition off draw circuit, but stopped there. If you don't leave the car on a battery tender, it will kill the battery if the car isn't driven after 7~10 days. I leave it on a battery tender, no problems.
4. The front right wheel bearing makes a pop noise about 30% of the time when backing up and turning the wheel to the left. Doesn't make noise under any other conditions, but will need to be replaced at some point.
5. The cold start could use some further tuning. The car cranks perfect when it has some heat in it, but it usually takes 2 tries to crank it on a cold morning. Nothing some further tinkering with the AEM can't fix.
I am asking $50k for the car and am willing to negotiate some if there is a serious buyer.
Thanks
Michael
