'97 Cobra PATS

I'm going to be replacing the ignition cylinder and keys as I lost the original keys that came with my cobra and had to remove the stock ignition cylinder. Am I going to have to worry about any PATS issues? I've heard that I can just disconnect power for about 10 mins and potentially have PATS reset, is that true? I have an SCT tuner, can anyone provide a tune that would bypass the PATS if I would have issues?

Yes, although I think the disconnect time is much shorter than 10 minutes.

Would this allow the system to learn and work with new keys?

You'll either have to have the PATS turned off in the tune or have the keys programmed to the car. A good mobile lock smith should be able to set you up.
