96 C Techie

I'm looking at a 96 C with about 60K...
For some reason it has a oil leak already,(Is this common to have several issues @ only 60K?!?)
Any ideas about the leak as far as it maybe being common with certain engine builders etc...
Possibly not running either until I get some time to get overthere with a fresh battery etc...

Oil leaks aren't common. I've never read a post about an oil leak on here.

I didn't think so...
It seems to be on the front end...

If the the cobra has u/d pulley installed it could be leaking from there. Installers forget to put rtv on the key-way on the lower crank pulley. That is a common oil leak for 4v engines if done incorrectly.

I will deffinatly have to check for that, if that was the prblem what do you suggest, re-install?

Also check the oil filter adapter plate. My cars adapter broke at 43k miles and it leaked oil

I'll have to check those two.
I also knew someone when bought a 96 with about 70K and when it got to about 76K it had a rod knocK and needed the engine replaced...
Anyone else have to replace their engine under 80K?
