96-98 fuel pump ?

Anyone know why they list a different part for the 255 lph pumps for the 4v from the 302/2v apps? I heard its because the 4v has a 2 spd pump but haven't been able to confirm this. I can see the physical difference but that doesn't concern me as I am using a fox tank and pickup

I put my old 96 Cobra pump in my roommate's 5.0 without issue. We just bought a different strainer and that's it.
