I thought you could get the 3.08s on the GTs as an option?

I believe the cobra RRs are Crane units. 1.7

3.08's were an option for the GT.

93 cobra consisted of
70mm Mass air
65mm TB
"Cast aluminum" GT 40 style intake
1.7 rockers (as mentioned previously)
GT-40 heads (not to be confused with the "P" heads)
Different camshaft
Smaller water pump and crank pullies
24lb injectors
Specifically programmed computer "X3Z"

That is just for the motor.

OK, you guys forced me to do it! :)
Here goes:

There were 4993 Cobras and 107 Cobra R's produced in 1993 for a total of 5100.

1FACP42D... is how the VIN should read. No Cobra came with cruise control. Only 5 options were available - PWR drivers seat, leather, CD, Rear window defrost, and Sunroof.

Visible differences on outside of car:
• Unique 17x7.5 turbine style wheels
• Unique rear bumper, side skirts and grill opening
• Rear disc brakes
• Snake emblems on fenders should be non-directional (DS faces to the back, passenger side faces to the front, unique to 93 Cobras)
• LX style tailpipes
• SVO style tail lights
• Unique rear spoiler
• GT40 Iron heads (3 "bars" should be visible on front of head, "GT" cast into head under valve cover
• Black stamped steel valve covers
• Crane 1.7 roller rockers, cast aluminum
• Available in 3 colors only: Teal metallic, Vibrant Red (kinda orange red), Black
• 70mm MAF
• 65mm throttle body
• Cobra (cast GT40) upper and lower intake
• Unique mufflers
• Smaller front sway bar
• 4 cylinder rear springs and regular 5.0 front springs
• Unique struts and shocks (Tokico was the OEM supplier)
• Unique cam (Used in 93 t birds and cougars, 94-95 Austrailian falcons)
• Unique EEC (X3Z catch code)
• 24# injectors
• 1" bore master cylinder
• Larger brake booster
• Unique tranny (World Class T5) - phosphate coated 2nd and 3rd gears, steel pocket bearing retainer
• Stock 5.0 fuel pump
• Hardened driveshaft yoke
*EDIT
• Unique brake proportioning valve
• Non cruise leather wrapped steering wheel
• Lettered floormats
• Unique crank and water pump pulleys (underdriven crank, overdriven WP)
• 3:08 ring and pinion

Here is the link to the post on the corral from a while back, but it has the same info in it:
http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=3259750

As far as I know, the list is pretty complete, unless someone can think of something else.

Richard, these items are missing from your list but they are mentioned above. Not sure if you meant to do that, but...

smaller water pump, crank, and different alternator? pulleys
3.08 gears
Our tranny is called a World Class T5

I edited the changes into my post. I hate it when I forget the obvious.

Bob, are you sure of the availability of 3:08 gears on 5.0's for the 93 model year? I was thinking they were only available on the limited edition LX convertables.

And why is it I still secretly believe the rockers are 1.72 ratio? Why has that number been in my head for so long - any other cars come with them stock?

I am positive. I have a buddy who has a white 93 GT with 3.08's here locally. They were an option for any GT 87-93. The Auto cars I think had the option of 3.27's. Both cars had 2.73's standard. I am going on my memory on the auto cars.

The Al Kirschenbaum book would have all that info in it. It is a great book, but there are still some misprints in it that I have noticed.
