Went from awesome to epic! I really like what have done to her man! Sweet ass build! Good luck with running her, and can't wait for the results. What kind of power did you put down with the old setup! Pm if u have time!
Sorry there have been no updates guys. I had a really busy summer and didn't get much time to work on it. I am back on it pretty hard right now. Through the floor subframes are done and the car is ready to go get a roll cage put in. Just waiting on the guy to have some free time. I will post some pics up soon.
Got all the Scott Rob Fab panels trimmed and ready to be welded in the engine bay and going to be welding up all the random holes aswell. Mocked up my tubular steering column and seat to get an idea of how long I will have to make the steering column..
Thanks!
With the rear tubs, are you able to use the factory interior quarter plastics? I think the jargo is "sail" panels?
I went with aftermarket 93 rims, had Weldcraft take them to 10.5" and stuffing 315's. I did do a little BFH massaging, but the upper spring perch is unforgiving for what I need. I think i need to follow your footsteps and tub the rear?
Which is a kick in the shorts for me, as I'm also using the same LPW girdle, but using the rear brace kit.
My hang up is using the factory plastics. Gues I could clay the wheel wells, kind of like claying heads to check PTV.
Alright time for some updates! I have changed my mind on a few things through out the build for things that would be better off in the long run. Instead of the 5.4 DOHC motor I was originally going to run I have decided to go with a Dart iron eagle 351W based block. It is most likely going to be 427 ci. I bought a set of Fox Lake ported Trick Flow High Port cylinder heads. I also bought a Edelbrock Super Victor intake with 16 injector setup. The reason I am running a 16 injector setup is to be able to run a set off smaller injectors when running on the street in order to maintain good driveability. I just purchased a set of CG Fabrications forward facing turbo headers which should be here in a couple weeks. Once the headers arrive I will start building the rest of the hot side to connect to the Bullseye S594 turbo w/ billet Batmowheel that I am going to be running. I also just purchased a Powerglide with JW case and JW bellhousing capable of handle 2000+ hp. I will be posting more pictures as I fabricate the hot side and mount the transmission.
Well I tried every way possible to mount the S594 turbo in the engine bay but I couldn't seem to find a way to be able to do it and keep as clean looking as I would like. So I recently purchased 2 Borg Warner S374 turbos from CustomRacingTurbos.com! These two smaller turbos will be much easier to package in the engine bay and will also make it easier to run exhaust out towards the rear of the car to keep me legal to run NMRA/NMCA True Street events! I just made up some brackets this past weekend to mount each turbo to the frame rails. Over the next couple weeks I will be finishing the hot side piping from the headers to the flanges on those brackets. Below are a couple picture with the turbos mocked up on the brackets!
I've taken most of the summer off from working on the car but here in the last week decided to start working on getting the Wolfe Racecraft 25.5 cage fitted and tacked in! I have decided to change up how the turbos are mounted. Going to be putting a motor plate in the car and an externally mounted water pump to be able to free up room in front of the motor to mount the turbos sideways! Thinking this should turn out much cleaner and be easier to package into the engine bay.
