Welcome!

To answer your question, there weren't many '73's made:

STANDARD:
63D 2d Fastback: 10,820
65D 2d Hardtop: 51,480
76D 2d Convertible: 11,853

GRANDE:
65f 2d Hardtop: 25,274

MACH I:
63R 2d Fastback: 35,440

TOTAL: 134,867

Not too many, especially since most rusted out or wound up in the junk yard.

My wife has a '73 convertible. It's in desperate need of a restoration job right now, but it will definitely be unique when it gets done. It's not my favorite Mustang bodystyle, but it's still not too bad. Right now it has a 302 automatic in it, but she has put in a formal request for a 460/5-speed. I think it'll probably end up as a 302/5-speed (can't bring myself to making her car the fastest one in the shed). The other neat part is that it's the same color combination (red/black/black) and exactly 25 years older than my '98 Cobra convertible.
