Looking to add some sensors to my car, is there a already accessible 5v power source somewhere to tap into or do I need to reduce it down somehow?

Update - should try reading the instructions first before posting here on my aem aq1 datalogger as it steps down voltage to 5v to supply the sensors with power.

What sensor are you trying to add? I can't think of anywhere you will get a 5v source from, but most gauges that come with sensors work off 12v bc of this.

The pcm uses a 5v system for the tps and other sensors such as the crank sensor. All the analog sensor use a 5v reference, i think. What are you adding? At some point I'm going to use a uno arduino with a transducer to moniter fuel pressure. Or start toying with raspbary pi3 for datalogging and interfacing.
