So I had a pretty eventful weekend. My buddy and I went on a roadtrip to St. Louis to pick up a 335xi for him. Decent drive all things considered.
Anyway, couple hours in and I notice these exotic looking headlights in my rearview and gaining fast. Soon enough I see that it's a white C7 with red stripes. Beautiful.
I figure he's just cruising through not caring about a stock looking 5.0 but as soon as he gets to my door I hear a rev. I look over and I see an arab looking dude (maybe 20??) signaling for me to go. I said **** it dropped it to 3rd at 80mph and mashed it to 160 (first time I ever slammed 6th felt weird lol ), and to my utter surprise I was ahead 1 maybe 2 car lengths.
I figure he must of missed a shift so I slow down to about 45 and drop it to 2nd and he matches my speed. This time he honks it and gets the hit and I mash it he jumps out 1/2 a car and I hear his shifting and it's an auto and I slowly pull ahead maybe a car to 130ish.
We pull off into a rest stop and chat for a bit and he asked me what kind of supercharger I had to be able to keep up with his car he was surprised when I said just a tune (AED) o/r x and intake.( I even one of my buddies wheels with stock pirellis for the trip, didn't want to miles on the ETs) Really cool guy though!Still surprised as hell about that race, I guess they're not that fast? Maybe he just sucks at driving? I have 3.31s if that helps at all but I'm really happy I won lol.
2nd race is my buddies 335xi.Super gnarly car but currently no match for the 5.0, we did a dig and I put maybe 10 cars on it I'm not too sure it was alot though. He's getting a tune soon and some other bolt ons should be a fun car. And that interior though holy crap it's comfy lol.
3rd race was an 06 300c SRT 8This happened the day after we got back. I was eating with my gf at a restaurant when I get a text from a friend saying there's a srt8 calling me out in the parking lot (lol?) saying he'll stomp any 5.0 with his way bigger motor.So I finished my meal met up with the guy, he was bragging about his CAI and exhaust ect ect. He tells me he can only do a 20 mph roll though because he's making too much power. I oblige and honk it off and instantly pull on him and drop about I'd say 8 cars on him. We stopped and chatted and he did a 180 and was super impressed about my car. He told me it pulls really hard for a 2v 5.0 hah.
Thanks for reading, I loved my car but after getting this AED tune it's a whole nother story. I can't wait to do some more bolt ons! Currently running a 12.3 @ 114 mph with a 1.8 60ft 1200 elevation and like 80% humidity can't wait for it to get into the 70s I really want to hit 11s before winter!
