Hi all, I'm in the middle of gathering my parts for the 5.0 stroker I'm going to build and put in my 04 GT. I know what parts I need any everything but I'm not sure what assembly specs I should go by.

I'm reading my modular engine book now and it says main bearing clearances should be between .0011 to .0026 inches and rod bearings should be .001 to .0027 inches.

For the crank, it says the maximum allowable runout is .002 inches. Also, it says that crank endplay should be .006 to .012 inches.

For ring end gap, it says it should be .006 to .010 inches for the top ring and .010 to .016 inch for the secondary.

My question is, how will these measurements change or need to be changed since I will have an increase in stroke/piston travel?

It shouldn't go with the 4.6 specs unless the piston/ring manufacturer states otherwise. The piston/ring mfg will be the ultimate authority on what to run for clearances.

All of your clearances should be the same except for the ring gap and PTW.

Your ring gap will be dictated by the intended use of the engine. Gaps are different for N/A engines vs ones with power adders

PTW will depend on 2 factors. 1 what the manufacturer recommends and 2 will again be the intended use of the engine.

I'd go with the build specs you have unless given other specs by your parts supplier. A quick phone call to whomever you ordered you parts from should answer all your questions.

BTW, I'm planning on building a 2V 5.0 stroker myself soon. Interested in your plan and parts list. PM me the details if you don't mind, would love to chat about it. No one else seems to support these 2V 'cept for a few of us.

sure they do..just no on this site..you basically dont gain any power from stroking to a 5.0..thats why you just go 284 and add some boost and compressio..or compression and nitrous:)
